KUWAIT: Researcher in Kuwaiti-British relations Essa Dashti displayed, on Tuesday, rare pictures of the first visit of Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to London in 1919. Dashti told KUNA that the opening of the cultural exhibition at Dickson House Museum is coinciding with the current visit of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the United Kingdom to open the country's new investment bureau.

On the pictorial collection, Dashti said the 1919 visit marked the first for a member of the ruling family to Britain. He further noted that Sheikh Ahamd Al-Jaber was representing back then ruler Sheikh Salem Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah to congratulate King George V on World War I victory. - KUNA
