KUWAIT: A Municipal Council team visited yesterday the Clean Fuel Project's site along with Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) officials to inspect environmental aspects and construction's progress. Chairman of the Municipal Council Osama Al-Otaibi said that the delegation confirmed during the visit that the project meets the highest international environmental standards, expressing pride in the fact that "Kuwaiti youth are working on such major projects."
"We are looking forward for the completion of the project which is 98 percent complete," Otaibi said, adding that the council supports KNPC and plans to allocate more lands for it. Otaibi was accompanied in the tour by his deputy Abdullah Al-Mahri and members Dr Hassan Kamal, Maha Al-Baghli, Meshaal Al-Hamdhan, and Abdelsalam Al-Randi, as well as the council's secretary general Bader Al-Rifae.
Meanwhile, KNPC Deputy CEO for Projects Abdullah Al-Ajmi said the company was honored to receive the delegation, noting that some units at the Clean Fuel Project are already operational and others are being commissioned successively. He added that the project's budget is KD 4.680 billion, including KD 4.198 that have already been spent, noting that the total budget is enough to complete the project.
In other news, Kuwait Municipality's public relations said that the capital governorate inspectors carried out several field campaigns lately, which resulted in issuing 10 warnings for violations detected in buildings in Jaber Al-Ahmad.
