Case papers indicate that a police patrol suspected a vehicle parked outside a Mahboula building with its engine running. 'Witchcraft'

An information ministry employee reported that he accidentally found a roll of papers hidden in a hole in a ministry wall and that on checking them, he found them full of strange symbols and figures that made him think they were related to witchcraft. However, as soon as news about these papers spread around various offices, a state of panic prevailed and everyone started looking for more possible items. Despite that fact that ministry security burnt the papers, it seems that the employees have grown skeptical about each other and whether the papers were meant to settle some scores.

Ranch keeper saves the day

A citizen reported that his Kabd ranch's guard succeeded in foiling an attempt to rob the place, said security sources, noting that the guard also managed to jot down the suspects' vehicles' license plate numbers. A case was filed and further investigations are in progress.

Maid, sponsor dispute

A housemaid who escaped her sponsor's house in Qatar 10 years ago did the same in Kuwait, after she was escorted by her Kuwaiti sponsor to her country's embassy to renew her passport. On arriving at the embassy, the maid immediately told the labor attachÈ that her sponsor had been preventing her from going back to her country for years and that he had not paid her salary for two years. Informed sources said that the embassy confiscated the maid's passport and mandated the sponsor to pay her KD 600.

Fugitive arrested

A citizen in his forties who had been wanted for a KD 15,000 financial claim was arrested along Gulf Road, said security sources, noting that on seeing a police patrol, the man looked confused, and on checking on him, he was found wanted by authorities. Another 35-year-old citizen was also arrested in Sharq for KD 46,000 worth of financial claims.

Baby abandoned

A citizen informed Rumaithiya police station that he found a 3-month-old baby outside a mosque. The baby was taken to the nearest medical facility where his condition was said to be stable. A case was filed for investigations.

Man escapes death

An Asian man escaped death when he jumped out of a fourth floor Farwaniya apartment where he had been reportedly held captive for five days by three persons. The man, who sustained various fractures, told the police that his 'kidnappers' had been brutally beating him during detention. A case was filed and the three suspects are being summoned for further investigations.

Bus accident

A public transport bus driver broke his leg when his bus rammed into a truck along Mutlaa highway, said security sources noting, that the man was rushed to Jahra Hospital for treatment.

Illegal camps

Ahmadi security forces removed a number of illegal camps that were pitched near a military site in Julaia.

Hit-and-run

A citizen reported that a motorist hit his vehicle from behind along Gulf Road in Sharq and fled. The citizen provided the police with the hit-and-run vehicle's license plate number. A case was filed and further investigations are in progress.

Reckless driving

Five citizens were arrested for reckless driving in Saad Al-Abdullah, where they endangered their lives and those of others. The suspects' vehicles were also impounded pending further legal measures.

Fight under control

Ahmadi police brought a bloody fight between four citizens under control. The fight was in Fahaheel, and two of the fighters sustained injuries. The four are being questioned prior to legal action.

Ex-soldier arrested

Hawally police arrested a former soldier for driving while intoxicated, and was found wanted for selling drugs. A woman accused a doctor of committing a medical error and lodged a complaint at Nugra police station. The 45-year-old woman told police she went to a private medical center for a plastic surgery, but the doctor made an error that caused her harm. Drug possession

Three drug users were arrested in Riggae with 12 joints of heroin and paraphernalia. They and the contraband were sent to the drugs control general department.
