Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad congratulates Saudi Arabia on national day

KUWAIT: Kuwait shares Saudi Arabia's optimism over ending the difference in opinion over the divided oil-producing zone "in the near future," Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah said on Monday. The Deputy Foreign Minister mentioned "positive statements" made by the Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on the matter, while giving remarks to reporters at a Saudi Embassy National Day function. He also expressed Kuwait's keenness towards "turning over a new leaf" on the affair. The Saudi Energy Minister had earlier stated that "positive" talks were highlighted by a political will to resolve the matter, adding "all will be clear over the next two months," in regards to the resumption of output.


Meanwhile, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah expressed his sincere congratulations to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the 89th anniversary of the National Day. Sheikh Nasser also wished the Kingdom and its people further progress and prosperity under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz. This came in statements to reporters on the sidelines of the ceremony organized by the Saudi Embassy in Kuwait on Monday on this occasion.


Furthermore, Jarallah greeted the Kingdom on the National Day, describing it as a glorious day for the Arabian Gulf states and their peoples, especially Kuwait. Jarallah added that this day recalls Saudi people's achievements on their march towards building, development and peace. He stated that Kuwaitis recall with great pride the historical and heroic stance of the late King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who "contributed greatly to Kuwait's liberation from the Iraqi invasion." He praised the role of the Kingdom and its contributions at the regional and international levels as well as its "constructive and important" role in supporting the Arab and Islamic nations, particularly the Palestinian people, as well as its role in enhancing the role of the Gulf Cooperation Council. In his turn, the Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait Prince Sultan bin Saad Al Saud affirmed the depth of "historical and brotherly" relations between the two countries and their peoples. Prince Sultan said the national day of the Kingdom was a joy for the people of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. - KUNA
