Kuwait foils smuggling 16,000 subsidized food items in two months

KUWAIT: Kuwait Customs confiscated nearly 16,000 subsidized food items that were on their way to be smuggled out of the country during crackdowns on exports in the past two months. The items were hidden inside cargo trucks that were inspected on land border outlets, the General Administration of Customs said in a statement yesterday. The re-sale and export of subsidized food items is illegal in Kuwait.
