KUWAIT: Kuwait onSaturday denounced the drone attack which targeted the Shaybah Oil Field in thesoutheast of Saudi Arabia. This action aimed at destabilizing the security andstability of the Kingdom and the global energy supply, and requires aninternational effort to avoid crises and conflicts, and more tension in theregion, said an official source in Kuwait Foreign Ministry in a statement.

The sourceaffirmed Kuwait's full support to Saudi Arabia and to all measures taken tomaintain its security and stability. In the meantime, Secretary-General of GulfCooperation Council (GCC) Dr Abdullatif Al-Zayani strongly condemned theterrorist drone attack, carried out recently by Houthi militia on Shaybah OilField in southwestern Saudi Arabia.

The nonstopHouthi attacks targeting oil facilities in the Kingdom reveal their maliciousgoals in endangering global energy supplies, Dr Zayani said in a pressstatement. He called on the international community to condemn these attacksand take strong measures to stop them. Zayani described the attack on the fieldas a cowardly terrorist act that threatens security and stability in theregion.

Saudi Minister ofEnergy, Industry and Mineral Resources Khalid Al-Falih said on Saturday thatunmanned drones attacked one of the units of a natural gas plant in Shaybahfield, causing minor damages.
