KUWAIT: A security source said the Farwaniya security director has asked for deporting five Somalis because of their hooliganism at a Khaitan public park and terrorizing picnickers. The source said interior ministry operations received calls about some expats harassing picnickers in the park. A police patrol went to the park and arrested the five. Meanwhile, five Indians were arrested while intoxicated, and 29 locally-brewed liquor bottles were found with them. They were sent to concerned authorities.

Domestic violence

A Pakistani man who could not tolerate his American wife's "free" behavior beat her, and was detained at the police station. The man, who lives in Salmiya, attempted many times to impose his conservative customs on her, but her openness to other cultures prevented her from going along with his wishes, so he beat her when he failed. The woman went to Mubarak Hospital and obtained a medical report, then went to the police station and lodged a complaint. The husband was summoned, and begged his wife to forgive him, but she insisted that he be punished. The case was sent to the prosecution.

'Psychiatric' son

A Jordanian man got fed up with his son's behavior that caused harm to his family and himself, and took him to Hawally police station and asked that he be taken to the psychiatric hospital. The Jordanian said his son beat him and his mother sometimes in a way that made them lose control over him, and they were unable to hand him to the psychiatric hospital. Policemen promised to refer the son to the psychiatric hospital.

Worker injured

An Egyptian man was rushed to Mubarak Hospital ICU after he fell from the roof of an elementary school in Zahra. The man was carrying out construction work when he fell and sustained extensive injuries. Police and paramedics went to the school and took the man to the hospital in critical condition.
