KUWAIT: His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Seif palace yesterday Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanem and the visiting Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan Shukurjon Zuhurov and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting was also attended by Protocol Chief at His Highness the Crown Prince Diwan, Sheikh Mubarak Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, and head of the Mission of Honor accompanying the Tajik official, MP Saud Al-Hariji.

Meanwhile, His Highness the Deputy Amir received Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah and UN Special Adviser on Sport for Development and Peace Wilfried Lemke. His Highness the Deputy Amir lauded Lemke's regional and international efforts in sports, especially towards suspension of sports in Kuwait.

His Highness the Deputy Amir pointed out that Kuwait is a "country of constitution" that respects all international laws and regulations of sports and does not accept any "infringement" of these laws from anyone, reiterating that Kuwait will always abide by the law and the constitution and will "rise above all."

He expressed hope that all sports sectors in Kuwait will cooperate to resolve this situation, and wishing that Kuwait sports will shine again at regional and international venues. "This is my wish, and the wish of every Kuwaiti who loves his or her country," His Highness the Deputy Amir said. The meeting with Lemke's was attended by chief of protocol at His Highness the Crown Prince's Diwan Sheikh Mubarak Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah.

In the meantime, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received at Seif Palace President of the Kuwaiti-Tajik Parliamentary Friendship Committee Saudi Nashmi Al-Huraiji, accompanied by Speaker of the Tajik Parliament and his delegation.

His Highness the Prime Minister also received Minister Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, who was accompanied by Lemke. Director General of the Public Authority for Sports Sheikh Ahmad Mansour Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah attended the meeting. First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah also met Lemke, in presence of Director-General of the Public Authority for Sports (PAS) Sheikh Ahmad Mansour Al-Sabah, the deputy premier and foreign minister's office ambassador Sheikh Dr Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah and other officials.

Also yesterday, His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak received the visiting Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr. The meeting was attended by Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) Abdulwahab Al-Bader and Undersecretary at His Highness the Prime Minister's Diwan Sheikha Etemad Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled also met Dr Nasr, and reiterated during the meeting Kuwait's supporting stance to the security and stability of Egypt, stressing the importance of promoting its economy to resume its leading role in the region.

Earlier yesterday, His Highness the Crown Prince received His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammed Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah and Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud Al-Sabah. - KUNA
