KUWAIT: Thegovernment assigned Kuwait Municipality to coordinate with the Finance Ministryand the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) to establish temporary housing unitsfor workers of companies which execute projects outside suburban areas. It alsoallowed companies with government contracts to provide housing if they haveover 1,000 workers.

During its weeklymeeting on Monday, the Cabinet also assigned authorities concerned to takeplant trees with the aim of blocking dust from reaching Sabah Al-Ahmad andAl-Khairan residential areas, as well as highways. Furthermore, the governmentassigned Kuwait Municipality to study establishment of storage areas in differentareas in the country to end storage in basements of private houses andapartment buildings.

Earlier duringthe meeting chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber MubarakAl-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-KhaledAl-Hamad Al-Sabah briefed the Cabinet about the outcome of a recent visit byIranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, dealing with boosting regionalstability and maintaining free navigation in Arabian Gulf. Sheikh SabahAl-Khaled also said Zarif and the Kuwaiti officials discussed securitysituation in the area, political developments at the regional and internationallevels, Deputy Premier and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Salehsaid in a statement.

Minister Salehbriefed the Cabinet about his participation in a ceremony in Khartoum where thetransitional military council and opposition signed a power-sharing agreement.The Cabinet, meanwhile, expressed gratitude for Saudi King Salman bin Abdulazizfor the great efforts that contributed to a successful Hajj season. Inaddition, the Cabinet eulogized Fahad Abdullah Al-Hawasi, former Minister ofState for Municipal Affairs, who passed away recently.

Terrorist attack

In the meantime,the Cabinet strongly condemned the terrorist drone attack, carried out recentlyby Houthi militia on Shaybah Oil Field in southwestern Saudi Arabia. It saidthat the attack targeted the security and stability of the Kingdom and theglobal energy supplies, calling on the international community to take thenecessary measures to stop these criminal acts and to avoid further tension andinstability in the region. The State of Kuwait stands fully with Saudi Arabiaand supports it in all measures taken to protect and maintain its security andstability.

The Council ofMinisters also condemned the arbitrary security practices imposed by theIsraeli occupation authorities and the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque outsideareas, including attacking worshipers after Eid Al-Adha prayers on August 11.The Cabinet called for an end to such abusive practices and encroachment onreligious sanctities, affirming on the Palestinian people's right to dignity,freedom and sovereignty over their land and sanctities.

Afterward, theCabinet expressed its deepest condolences and condolences to the People'sRepublic of China after Typhoon Lekima, which hit several areas in easternChina recently and resulted in a number of injuries. Meanwhile, the Cabinetcondemned the terrorist bombing that targeted a wedding ceremony in the Afghancapital, Kabul, yesterday, which resulted in a large number of fatalities andinjuries. The Cabinet condemned the recent terrorist bombing of a mosque nearthe city of Quetta, Pakistan, affirming on Kuwait's stance against violence andterrorism. - KUNA
