Academy X host its graduation ceremony at Kuwait University

CODED aims to bridge the gender gap in technology, coding, AI

KUWAIT: With media sponsorship from Kuwait Times and Kuwait News, along with the sponsorship of Zain, Academy X hosted its graduation ceremony at Kuwait University for the inaugural group of participants. This graduation marks the completion of the program for the first cohort, with more groups set to follow in joining Academy X. The program specifically focuses on empowering girls in the realm of technology and artificial intelligence, teaching them how to kickstart their own businesses. During the event, the registered girls showcased their final projects, which they worked on throughout the duration of the program.

Upon completion, the girls will receive certificates acknowledging their proficiency in utilizing technology for entrepreneurial endeavors, along with trophies awarded to the top-performing projects. CODED, the organization behind Academy X, aims to bridge the noticeable gender gap in technology, coding, and artificial intelligence fields. Rahaf Al-Enezi, the initiative’s lead at CODED, told Kuwait Times: “Today, we gather to inspire and encourage girls, letting them know that they have the capability to excel in this domain and become integral members of the tech community.

Each participating group has a dedicated booth where they presented and elucidated their projects, articulating their purpose and potential for profitability. At these booths, attendees have the opportunity to engage with the girls, gaining insight into the projects’ intricacies and how they addressed specific needs or challenges.”

Moreover, the girls discussed the monetization strategies associated with their projects, demonstrating a keen understanding of how their technological innovations could translate into viable business ventures. Through these interactions, attendees gained a comprehensive understanding of the girls’ entrepreneurial endeavors and the economic opportunities inherent in the intersection of technology and business.
