Drugs found in rice container
KUWAIT: Customs officers at Shuwaikh Port foiled an attempt to smuggle nearly 17 kilograms of shabu (methamphetamine) hidden in rice sacks in a food supplies' container arriving from Iran yesterday. The operation came less than 24 hours after a similar case in which customs officers foiled an attempt to smuggle 5.4 kilograms of shabu in a shipment of candy bars.

Flames spread to five houses in Jaber Al-Ahmad
KUWAIT: Four fire teams battled a blaze that erupted in a house under construction in Jaber Al-Ahmad yesterday. Strong winds also helped flames spread to four other nearby homes, Kuwait Fire Force said. No injuries were reported as firemen managed to evacuate the buildings before successfully extinguishing the fire, KFF explained. An investigation was opened to reveal the cause of the fire.
