Summer enters its final stages

KUWAIT: Al-Ojeiri Scientific Center announced on Saturday that summer is entering its final stages with the start of the Al-Kulaibin season on Sunday, August 11, which is considered the last season that records an increase in temperature. The center said in a press statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the Al-Kulaibin season lasts for 13 days, which is the dividing line between high temperatures and moderate weather, and is considered the sixth house of summer for the Bedouin Arabs and the seventh in the calendar of the houses of the sun and moon.

It added that the stormy winds will calm down during the (Al-Kulaibin) season and the interior of the earth cools down at the end of the season, indicating that (Al-Kulaibin) has two stars located within the last constellation. He explained that during Al-Kulaibin, a gradual moderation in the atmosphere is observed, especially at night, noting that the night hours continue to increase at the expense of the day, as the length of the day at the beginning of the season reaches 13 hours and 18 minutes, while the night records 10 hours and 41 minutes. — KUNA
