Residents jailed, deported for driving without license
KUWAIT: A court in Kuwait sentenced a resident to six months and 15 days in jail followed by deportation for driving without a license, a local daily reported yesterday. The traffic court also sentenced another resident to three weeks in jail on similar charges, Al-Rai Arabic daily reported quoting security sources. "This follows a current trend where serious traffic violators are sent to court regardless of appeals," the sources said.
Dead body recovered from Gulf waters
KUWAIT: Fire and rescue men recovered a dead body across from the Blajat beach yesterday, 33 hours after search operations went on for the missing man. The victim's wife had told authorities that her husband went missing when he was fishing on the beach, saying that she believes he may have fallen into the Gulf waters.
