Manpower authority teams inspect for daytime ban violations
KUWAIT: Kuwait's Public Authority for Manpower teams have been visiting construction sites to make sure contractors were abiding by a ban on laborers from working in open areas, which begins on June 1 and ends August 31. The daily ban, which starts at 11:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm, is an effort by the government to help guarantee safety of workers during harsh weather conditions. - KUNA

Fire reported at Sulaibiya carpentry
KUWAIT: Firemen put out a blaze reported in a carpentry workshop in Sulaibiya Monday night. The fire covered a 400-square-meter area, Kuwait Fire Force said in a statement. No injuries were reported as an investigation was opened to reveal the cause of the fire, it added.

Divers remove fishing nets south of Kuwait Bay
KUWAIT: Kuwait Dive Team announced yesterday its volunteers have recently removed fishing nets south of Kuwait Bay near Jaber Causeway. The nets, weighing one ton, were removed from a depth of three meters under water in cooperation with Kuwait Coast Guard and the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources. Several dead fish were found stuck in the nets, team leader Waleed Al-Fadhel said. - KUNA
