KUWAIT: Bracing up for the upcoming rainy season in Kuwait, the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Society for Crisis and Emergency Management held a special meeting on Wednesday to discuss the emergency measures the authority has to take to avoid any possible rain-related accidents in the country.

Nasser Al-Buhairi, a member of the Board of Directors and head of the emergency team at the society, reviewed the emergency plan, preparations and equipment being used by the authorities in the country. They also reviewed the extent of their readiness with the necessary equipment and specialized technical teams to deal with any extraordinary circumstances and respond quickly to emergency cases.

The members of the Board of Directors praised the efforts being made by the state institutions in cooperation with the oil sector and other organizations with a comprehensive emergency plan for rapid response to deal with the upcoming rainy season.

The meeting agreed that safety of citizens and residents is important and decided to focus on areas that are potentially vulnerable to rain in order to limit any possible accidents.

At the end of the meeting, the board sent a message to all citizens and residents, reminding them of the need to strictly follow the instructions issued by the authorities. It also stressed that residents must not pay heed to unofficial sources and rumors and avoid going out to sea during rain in order to ensure their safety.
