Kuwait construction summit to open new horizons for private sector growth

Summit to showcase technologies that could support Kuwait’s development

KUWAIT: The Kuwait Construction Summit 2025 is set to launch Monday under the patronage and presence of Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Abdullatif Al-Meshari.

The summit brings together senior officials, industry leaders, and development experts to discuss the latest trends and advancements in the construction sector, in line with the goals of the “New Kuwait 2035” vision. It also offers the private sector an important platform to showcase capabilities and build connections with investors and international partners. Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Sunday, Dr Khaled Mahdi, Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Kuwait Construction Summit 2025, described the event as a strategic platform to highlight Kuwait’s emergence as a key destination for construction and development.

Mahdi emphasized that the summit is the “first of its kind in Kuwait,” gathering both international and local expertise. It will spotlight modern technologies and infrastructure readiness to support Kuwait’s major development plans. He noted that the summit will focus on presenting major projects and ambitious infrastructure initiatives, reinforcing Kuwait’s image as an attractive destination for investment. It will also promote sustainable sectors such as green buildings, renewable energy, and the green economy — essential for diversifying economic resources and advancing towards a knowledge-based economy powered by artificial intelligence (AI).

Mahdi highlighted the critical role of the private sector, stating that the summit offers companies a valuable opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities, engage with investors, and explore global best practices. These interactions are expected to enhance competitiveness, elevate quality standards, and boost private sector efficiency.

He further underlined the summit’s role in fostering partnerships between local and international firms, enabling Kuwaiti companies to expand their reach regionally and globally. Discussions will also focus on integrating AI into construction project management, energy systems, and safety measures — enhancing project efficiency, accelerating timelines, and minimizing risks.

Moreover, Mahdi pointed out that the summit will encourage companies to leverage AI in analyzing big data for construction and urban planning, leading to smarter, more cost-effective decision-making and reducing operational waste. He stressed that the summit aims to empower local companies by facilitating direct interactions with international industry leaders, supporting Kuwait’s transition towards sustainable cities, energy transformation, and a green economy.

Mahdi concluded by affirming that combining international partnerships with the empowerment of local enterprises is the ideal approach to fostering innovation, excellence, and sector-wide advancement. The summit’s outcomes are expected to support the national economy, empower the private sector, drive the transfer of advanced technologies, and bolster Kuwait’s standing regionally and globally in the construction industry. As part of the event, awards will be presented to recognize outstanding individuals, projects, and companies that have contributed to national development and innovation.—KUNA
