MoI launches security and traffic campaign

KUWAIT: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has launched an extensive security and traffic campaign in Hawally, under the direct supervision of Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Saud Al-Sabah. The initiative comes as part of ongoing nationwide efforts to bolster security and maintain public order.

In a statement issued Saturday, the MoI confirmed the participation of all relevant field departments under the Traffic Affairs and Operations Sector. These included the General Traffic Department, the General Department of Rescue Police, the Central Operations Department and the Private Security Sector. The ministry also highlighted the active and effective participation of female police officers, which contributed significantly to the campaign’s success.

The campaign led to the issuance of 921 traffic citations and the arrest of several individuals, including five for residency and labor law violations, five wanted for absconding, and three with pending arrest warrants. In addition, three individuals were referred to the General Department for Drug Control.

Authorities also seized eight vehicles and motorcycles wanted by the judiciary and impounded 10 others for traffic violations. The MoI emphasized that such campaigns are part of a broader strategy to reinforce public safety and ensure law enforcement across all governorates, affirming its continued efforts to apprehend violators and create a secure environment throughout Kuwait. — KUNA
