ShareKUWAIT: As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting students, innovators, and creative individuals, Zain has announced its role as the Platinum Partner for the 47th Engineering Design Exhibition. The event was organized by the College of Engineering and Petroleum at Kuwait University, with support from the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), held at Sabah Al-Salem University City in Shadadiya under the patronage of Dr Nader Al-Jallal, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Zain participated in the exhibition’s opening ceremony, attended by Dr Mohammed Al-Mulla, Vice President for Academic Support Services at Kuwait University; Nawaf Al-Gharabally, CEO of Zain Kuwait; Dr Khaled Al-Hazza, Acting Dean of the College of Engineering and Petroleum; as well as university leaders and representatives of partner organizations.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, Waleed Al-Khashti, Chief Corporate Affairs and Relations Officer of Zain Kuwait, presented the IT and Artificial Intelligence Award to the HALALI team. Sponsored by Zain, the award recognized the team’s exceptional project for effectively leveraging AI tools and technology solutions to achieve its objectives. Zain’s ongoing support for the exhibition and sponsorship of the award reflects its commitment to fostering innovation and promoting exceptional educational and student initiatives. This aligns with the company’s corporate social responsibility and sustainability strategy, which prioritizes the development of the education sector.
Education remains a top priority for Zain, as the company continues to strengthen its collaboration with academic institutions across the country. The Engineering Design Exhibition, organized by the Engineering Training and Alumni Office at the College of Engineering and Petroleum, is regarded as the most significant engineering event in the country. It showcases design projects from various scientific departments, providing a platform for research, development, and innovation. The exhibition opens new horizons for a sustainable and forward-thinking engineering future. This year, it featured 67 projects with the participation of 263 engineers who presented their promising designs to visitors.
This year’s exhibition featured 13 projects in chemical engineering, 17 projects in civil engineering, 9 projects in computer engineering, 12 projects in electrical engineering, 7 projects in mechanical engineering, 5 projects in petroleum engineering, and 4 projects in industrial engineering.
