ABU DHABI: Kuwait’s Minister of Information, Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi held meetings with several Arab media officials in Abu Dhabi on Monday to discuss joint Arab media cooperation in light of the digital revolution. The meetings took place during Al-Mutairi’s participation in the 102nd session of the Permanent Arab Media Committee and the 20th regular session of the Arab Information Ministers Council.
During his visit, Al-Mutairi met Bahrain’s Minister of Information Dr Ramzan Al-Nuaimi, Chairman of the National Media Office (NMO) and Chairman of the UAE Media Council Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al-Hamed, and the Head of Egypt’s Supreme Media Council Khaled Abdelaziz.


The discussions focused on the key issues and agenda of the 102nd regular session of the Permanent Arab Media Committee, the 20th session of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Information Ministers Council and the latest developments in the Arab media strategy abroad. Topics also included the role of Arab media in combating terrorism, the Arab media map for sustainable development by 2030, and efforts to enhance media quality, professionalism and the capabilities of Arab media professionals.
The UAE hosted the 102nd session of the Permanent Arab Media Committee, with representatives from over 22 countries and local and regional media organizations under the umbrella of the Arab Information Ministers Council. The discussions aimed to explore the future of Arab media amid the digital revolution and the rise of artificial intelligence, emphasizing its role as a powerful force in building informed societies and promoting international understanding. – KUNA
