The Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) is a research institution dedicated to conducting scientific studies related to industry in Kuwait, natural resource wealth, water and energy sources, improving agricultural methods, and developing water resources. It also aims to encourage the people of Kuwait to engage in scientific research and nurture the spirit of inquiry in the younger generation.

“All credit is due to Dr Faisal Al-Humaidan, Acting Director of KISR, for all the reforms and renewals he is implementing, both scientifically and practically,” is a sentiment I heard from many workers at KISR, who praise Dr Faisal for his current efforts and plans for future reforms. He not only listens to the opinions of others but also acts on them, taking their input seriously and incorporating it into his decisions. His approach includes consulting extensively on plans and decisions, and one of his most admired qualities is his open-door policy and his willingness to embrace every idea, both for those within the institute and those outside it. In short, Dr Faisal Al-Humaidan is the right person in the right place.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to KISR, which stands as a beacon of scientific excellence, not only in Kuwait but across the entire Gulf region. Established as the first Gulf scientific institution in the history of the Arabian Gulf, KISR has long been a leader in advancing research and innovation.

Our hope is that young blood is pumped into this scientific edifice. We also hope, through the words of our article, to see KISR’s administrative and scientific structure activated further, including the appointment of managers, and to see Dr Faisal Al-Humaidan officially appointed as the permanent director of KISR. His reform and development efforts, alongside his focus on scientific research and the adoption of new methods, will help propel KISR forward.

In conclusion, Kuwait will always remain the bride of the Gulf and a radiant beacon of excellence, thanks to the brilliance of its people in various fields. May Allah protect Kuwait, its leadership, and its citizens from all harm.
