DUBAI: Head of Kuwait’s National Center for Cybersecurity Mohammad Bouarki emphasized that innovation and technology are “fundamental pillars for enhancing our national security and protecting our data and information in an era of increasing cyber challenges.” In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) during his participation in GITEX Global 2024, which kicked off in Dubai Monday, Bouarki said: “By focusing on cybersecurity, we not only protect information and systems but also contribute to building a safer and more reliable digital future.”
He explained that this involves “protecting vital information and infrastructure across government sectors, as well as ensuring rapid response to incidents in the event of any breaches or attacks, which helps mitigate potential damage.” Bouarki noted that his participation in the 44th edition of GITEX Global is significant as it is “the largest event of its kind in the technology sector in the region,” and reflects Kuwait’s commitment to enhancing its cybersecurity capabilities.
He added that the presence of the National Cybersecurity Center’s technical team at the exhibition is a “strategic step” for exchanging knowledge, expertise, and skills with global industry experts, which aids in gaining new insights into the latest trends and technologies in cybersecurity.
Bouarki is also participating in two panel discussions at the exhibition: the first with heads of national cybersecurity authorities on building a solid and resilient cybersecurity framework, and the second titled “UAE and Kuwait: Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation.” GITEX Global, running for five days, is one of the largest global events dedicated to technology and startups, featuring extensive regional and international participation, and this year’s edition is held under the theme “Global Collaboration to Forge a Future AI Economy”. — KUNA
