Charity opens integrated Islamic center in Poland

KUWAIT: The International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) inaugurated an integrated Islamic center in the Polish city of Lodz in the center of the university campus to enhance cultural communication between Islamic culture and other cultures. Deputy Director General of the Projects Sector at the organization Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa said in a press statement that the center covers an area of 1,722 square meters and serves more than 10,000 members of the Muslim community.

It includes eight classrooms, a mosque, a modern library, a meeting and lecture hall, a computer hall, an integrated administrative office, and other services. He said that the project enhances the educational process, stressing that this center will not be limited to performing the five daily prayers, Friday prayers and Tarawih prayers only, but will organize cultural events and educational courses to teach Islamic law and the Arabic language.

The organization looks forward to the Islamic Cultural Center being a beacon of moderate guidance, science, and knowledge in the city of Lodz and a bridge of communication with all cultural components in Polish society. He praised the fruitful cooperation with the International Mercy Association, which in turn contributed to the center’s project with funding.
