KUWAIT: Zain employees recently participated in the insightful Digital Transformation Program organized by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS). The program aimed to deepen their knowledge of digitization and introduce them to the impact of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence in reshaping industries and transforming work environments.

This step falls under the umbrella of Zain’s Purpose and Human Resources strategy that aims to empower and invest in its human capital. The company continuously focuses on enhancing the capabilities and talents of its national workforce in various fields to achieve sustainable growth and enrich their career journeys, especially in topics related to technology that are central to its operations.

The program provided a great opportunity for Zain employees from non-technical departments to learn about digitization and digital transformation, understanding how these concepts have had significant impact in major industries worldwide in recent years, opening entirely new opportunities for growth and expansion, and evolving the day-to-day operations of businesses and organizations.

Zain is keen to invest in its human capital.

The program covered several topics related to digital transformation, including the concepts of digitization and the digital economy, and how they drive growth and establish new business models. The participants were also introduced to emerging technologies that continue to bring massive changes to business environments, such as generative AI, the Internet of Things (IoT), fintech, big data, virtual and augmented reality (VR & AR), machine learning (ML), robotics, and more.

Additionally, the program addressed key aspects of the digital transformation process, such as vision development, strategy formulation and execution, cultivating an empowering work culture, building tech skillsets, investing in the tech infrastructure, leveraging data, optimizing work processes, and translating strategic vision into actionable plans. It also covered analyzing market requirements and understanding the challenges organizations face.

The training program featured a combination of lectures, interactive activities, theoretical and practical concepts, and self-reflection sessions to enhance interpersonal skills. Various training methods were employed to maximize the impact of the program, which was facilitated by certified trainers and specialists from KFAS. Zain is committed to playing a strategic role in attracting aspiring local talents to the private sector, bolstering the presence of the national workforce in the job market, especially in STEAM fields and digital capacities that have become a priority in today’s markets.
