Reform principles are based on the rules of criticism. There is no perfect city, so active people adopt the rules of criticism and improvement, but people who are less active resort to insult and defamation. There is a fundamental difference between nations in the Renaissance era and nations in the pre-Renaissance era. Human beings will continue to develop in either way.
In the 16th century, scientists of the European Renaissance reformed the intellectual approach, taking advantage of the fall of Constantinople by copying the ideas of great nations who succeeded before them in liberating the human mind. The movement of development and civilization accelerated in recent history, and human beings advanced in science, industry, and agriculture and man stepped on the moon and created a global village surrounded by endless networks of waves.
The secret of the human being’s success is in his ability to use his brain freely to improve and develop his surroundings. There are different kinds of people with different mentalities. Whenever the critical mentality disappears and pessimism and frustration spread, it is an indication of the people’s failure and laziness, and these hinder growth and positive development. Spreading pessimism is not an indication of man’s wish to act; rather, the opposite is totally right, and attacks and criticisms are not a sign of man’s keenness to reform; rather, it is the opposite.
Critical mentality is what we need - a mentality that analyzes reality and uses the information that is based on evidence to perform an executive role. An optimistic mentality believes that imperfection is the nature of life, so do not become angry when you see any defect, but rather work on mending it. A good mentality adores freedom and respects human rights and every living creature because it is Almighty Allah’s creation.
How can we raise our children on those principles in the midst of those who are full of anger and pessimism? We will start by facing and analyzing reality and not run away from it. We need freedom, justice, and equality. Kuwaitis are thirsty for advanced civilization. So, the opportunity is in front of us. I hope that we do not let it go away.
