KUWAIT: South Korea’s men and women teams proved tough during Tuesday’s competitions of the Asian Fencing Championships 2024 senior team men’s Saber and senior team women’s Epee.

Korea’s Saber team of Bongil Gu, Hansol Ha, Sanguk Oh and Sangwon Park won the gold medal by defeating Iran’s team of Farzad Arabsbarn Baher, Mohammad Fotouhi, Ali Pakdaman and Mohammad Rahbari, taking the silver medal. Hong Kong, China ended in third place with the team of Royce Hei Lok Chan, Aaron Long Sze Ho, Ching Tin Ching and Tin Ho Low.

Meanwhile, Korea’s Epee women team of Injeong Choi, Young Mi Kang, Hyein Lee, and Sera Song won the gold medal by defeating China’s Yiewen Sun, Junyao Tang, Nuo Xu and Sihan Yu, who took the silver medal, while the bronze went to the team of Hong Kong, China’s Ying Sin Au, Ling Wai Ling, Sin Yan Kaylin Hseih and Ooco Hei Yik Lin.

The tournament hosted by Kuwait, will conclude with Kuwait facing South Korea, in addition to the women’s foil competitions. It is worth mentioning that 350 fencers representing 36 countries participated in the championship.
