KUNA launches summer training program for kids

KUWAIT: The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Sunday launched its first summer media training program for children under the title ‘KUNA Little Club’. The program is being held at the agency’s headquarters and will last two weeks with the participation of 15 children. The program aims to increase children’s media awareness by developing their skills in the field of media and journalism so that they can distinguish between real and misleading news, verify official news sources, as well as hone their language skills and the ability to write news and press reports.

The first day started with several activities, including the introduction of children to KUNA, the purpose of its foundation, its goals, the basics of integrated journalism, and skills. The guest of the magazine “Little KUNA” was hosted by the young farmer Banwan Al-Banwan, who talked about his experience in the field of agriculture.

There was also a fun science activity and a real science project. Children carried out several physical scientific experiments. The children also toured the editorial hall to get acquainted with the mechanism of work and the preparation of news materials. The training program includes several activities, including the arts of radio and television delivery, photojournalism skills, learning about media and artificial intelligence applications, and how to write news. — KUNA
