Kuwait’s Disabled Fencing team begin training in Cairo

KUWAIT: Kuwait Disabled Fencing team arrived in Cairo, Egypt, to start a training camp that will continue until July 1, in preparation for the world fencing championship in Poland from July 2 until the 8th.

There will be 155 fencers from 45 countries competing in the foil, epee and sabre events, while Kuwait fencers will participate in the men and women’s singles and men’s doubles. Kuwait disabled team include Suleiman Al-Tamimi, Kholoud Al-Mutairi, Ayesha Al-Matar, Fahad Al-Bastaki, Fahad Al-Ansari and Salem Saleh.

Head of the delegation Saad Al-Ajmi said the Cairo camp will have intense training to be at their best adding “Kuwait team will present the best of levels in the world tournament which will see the best ranked world fencers, and hope the technical department led by coach Khalid Al-Sarraf will take the players to the top technical and physical readiness before the start of the tournament.
