On August 15th, 1945, Japan’s Emperor Hirohito addressed the Japanese people in a historic event. In his speech that lasted for just few minutes, Emperor Hirohito used the Japanese classical language to speak about the enemy’s use of new lethal weapons. He confirmed the approval of what came out of the Potsdam conference without mentioning his country’s surrender.

Emperor Hirohito called on the Japanese people to maintain their unity and adopt good behavior, urging them to rebuild and focus on the future. Ever since then, Japan has remained one of the most advanced countries in the world.

Despite Japan’s unconditional surrender, the Japanese leader did not lose faith in his people. The emperor believed in Japan’s ability and its steadfastness. Japan is not only one of the most advanced countries; it has made a lot of progress in technology.

This is a good lesson for other leaders across the globe. Kuwait experienced such bitter moments during the Iraqi invasion. Just like Japan, Kuwaiti leaders were hopeful. They began to rebuild the nation after the invasion. I hope that we will always remember the efforts of these great leaders.

They worked very hard, bringing in foreign experts and medical teams who worked alongside Kuwaiti experts to rebuild and develop the country. During that time, Kuwait brought in a prime minister who (just like medics) diagnosed, prescribed, and reshaped Kuwait for good. “Only our nails will scratch our skin.” Any official who doesn’t understand this, should step aside. We want Kuwait to be one of the most developed countries in the world.
