KUWAIT: First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah affirmed that the directives of HH the Amir, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in his recent speech stating "no one is above the law, regardless of their position or status,” serve as a roadmap and working methodology within the ministry of defense.

This is to monitor and oversee all decisions and actions taken to safeguard public funds and protect them from any encroachments. Sheikh Fahad made these remarks during a meeting held at the defense ministry headquarters on Tuesday, attended by senior army leaders. He expressed his sincere gratitude and immense appreciation to HH the Amir and Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah for the valuable trust bestowed upon him.

Sheikh Fahad said this trust represents a significant commission, responsibility and trust, for which he prayed to God Almighty for strength to carry out and fulfill his duties correctly. Sheikh Fahad emphasized that the security of Kuwait is a responsibility borne by the sons of the country, particularly those within the military establishment. The political leadership’s trust, support, and encouragement entail a serious commitment from them to safeguard the country’s security, stability and territorial integrity.

He reiterated that enhancing the efficiency and capability of the Kuwaiti army receives direct attention from HH the Amir and the Prime Minister. "We will, in turn, work with the help of God Almighty, following their directives and instructions, with continuous and constant monitoring of all efforts, taking into account the mobilization of all resources and overcoming various obstacles to achieve the desired vision and goals,” he said. The meeting was attended by the Chief of General Staff of the Army Lt Gen Bandar Al-Muzain and the Deputy Minister of Defense Sheikh Dr Abdullah Mishal Al-Sabah. – KUNA
