KUWAIT: Kuwait Special Olympics (KSO) badminton team left for Abu Dhabi to participate in the Gulf Badminton tournament organized by UAE Special Olympics in cooperation with Special Olympics MENA.
Kuwait delegation to the tournament is headed by Kuwait Special Olympics President Hanaa Al-Zawawi. The delegation includes players Mohammad Burabaa and Fawzan Al-Qassar for singles and doubles and Sheikha Al-Hindi for women’s singles, it also has coach Rawan Al-Foudary and Hazim Al-Tarkait and Mustafa Hassouna as officials. Al-Zawawi said this participation is within the sports program of KSO “to allow our players the opportunity to compete and improve their skills in all sports games.”
She said the players prepared well for the tournament and it was evident by KSO winning the gold medal during the world games that were held in Berlin in the summer.
Al-Zawawi expressed confidence in the KSO players to give outstanding performance and be winners. She thanked Olympics Tomooh club and guardians for their efforts in preparing for the team to participate.
Meanwhile, coach Rawan Al-Foudary said the team went through a preparation program followed by a training camp during which concentration was on muscular and nervous compatibility, stamina and to enhance physical fitness.
