KUWAIT: Burgan Bank announced it continues annual support for the Kuwait Association for the Care of Children in Hospital (KACCH) and Bayt Abdullah Children’s Hospice (BACCH) for the 23rd consecutive year. The Bank’s unwavering support for KACCH and BACCH has taken multiple forms over the decades, from annual donations to yearlong volunteering that engages all Burgan staff. This comes as part of the Bank’s committed and all-encompassing social responsibility program and its institutional mission to remain a leading contributor to the overall development of its community.

We look forward to continuing this distinctive and fruitful relationship, which directly contributes to expanding and developing our charitable efforts in hospitals and at Bayt Abdullah, and to changing the healthcare experience for children in Kuwait. It is worth mentioning that we have provided 36,921 services to support children and their families by our Child Life Specialists and Play Leaders in hospitals, in addition to 5,696 medical services at Bayt Abdullah.”

From a single playroom in the Amiri Hospital in 1989, KACCH and BACCH now operate in eight public hospitals across Kuwait in addition to Bayt Abdullah Children’s Hospice, offering psychosocial support to children in hospitals and their families through their team of certified Child Life specialists and the fully equipped play areas that are designed to meet every child’s needs. In addition to the specialized palliative care services provided to children who are suffering from life limiting or life-threatening conditions in Bayt Abdullah.

In the most recent years of their joint efforts, Burgan Bank organized numerous initiatives in collaboration with KACCH and BACCH, including the Ramadan Toy Drive, music instrument donations, and sponsoring a young palliative care patient’s trip to attend the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 semi-final match. It serves to note that the Bank encourages its employees to volunteer in many of these initiatives, ensuring that the values of compassion, empathy, and giving are exercised thoroughly across the institution.
