Arab Sailing Championship 2024 concludes

KUWAIT: The Arab Sailing Championship 2024 that was organized by the Sailing Committee (rowing, Kayak, kite board) of Kuwait Sea Sport Club concluded on Saturday by awarding the winners of the championship that was under the umbrella of Public Authority for Sport and the Arab Sailing Federation.

The tournament results were as follows: Khalifa Al-Rumaithi from UAE won first place of the Optimist category, Malak Al-Dousary from Bahrain second and Tameem Suleiman from Oman third. Meanwhile, women winners in the same category were Malak Al-Dousary from Bahrain first, Mayar Fayez from Libya second.

In the juniors optimist, Khalifa Al-Rumaithi from UAE first Abdulrahman Al-Bahri from UAE second and Abdullah Sadeq from Bahrain third.

In the men’s ILCA 6 category, Oman’s Motasim Al-Farisi first, Dawood Abdullah from Bahrain second, Saud Al-Masoud from Kuwait third.

In the men’s ILCA 7, Abdullah Al-Janahi from Bahrain won first place, Hussein Al-Jabiri from Oman second and Hamza Al-Ali from UAE third.

In the women’s ILCA 6, Dhuha Al-Bishr from UAE first, Ameena Shah from Kuwait second and Eman Al-Qamati from Tunisia third.

The closing ceremony was held at the club premise in the presence of PAS Director General Yousuf Al-Baidan, President of the Arab Federation Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of Kuwait Sea Sport Club Fahad Al-Fahad along with several ambassadors.

75 players from UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Jordan, Iraq, Algeria, Tunisia, Sudan, Libya, Palestine and Kuwait participated in the tournament. — KUNA
