Facebook suspends Kuwait News page for reporting Zionist crimes

KUWAIT: Facebook has suspended the page of Kuwait Times’ sister news agency Kuwait News, claiming that their posts reporting the Zionist entity’s crimes in Gaza have violated their ‘Community Standards’. This comes following reports stating that Meta will start aggressively censoring posts containing the word ‘Zionist’ on its social media platforms. Kuwait News has actively provided daily coverage of the Zionist military assault on Gaza since the start of the current aggression on October 7. It posted regular updates to millions of its followers on Instagram, Facebook, X and other social media platforms in Arabic, simultaneously with Kuwait Times’ English news coverage online and in the print.

Various news agencies in Kuwait, where freedom of the press is protected under the constitution, have provided up-to-date coverage of the Zionist entity’s military operation in Gaza over the past four months. The Washington Post had reported Friday that Meta was debating whether to more aggressively remove some social media posts containing the words ‘Zionist’, saying that the move would be made to counter a surge of anti-semitism online.
