DOHA: The acting director general of the Kuwait Environment Public Authority (EPA), Sameera Al-Kandari, stressed the importance of shedding light on the efforts of the private sector in sustainability and environmental projects. Al-Kandari, also commissioner general of the Kuwait Pavilion at Expo 2023 Doha for Horticulture, made the statement to KUNA after a conference made by Kuwait’s pavilion at the expo titled "The Role of the Private Sector Toward Sustainability.”
She noted that Kuwait pays special attention to sustainability, adding that welfare and development cannot be achieved without exerting efforts to maintain human and environmental resources and make them sustainable. Kuwait’s pavilion shows the role of the country and its government agencies in environmental projects and modern technological sustainability, referring to Kuwait’s private sector’s role in this matter.
"Through this conference, we review environment policies and different efforts of the private sector to partake in sustainability and social responsibility,” she elaborated. Kuwait’s pavilion held several effective activities and lectures relating to the environment and sustainability with different bodies, she made clear. — KUNA
