Kuwait: Zain, the leading digital service provider in Kuwait, announced the successful completion of 5G Two Carrier Aggregation (2CC) test, accomplishing a high data download speed of 2.5Gbps. The announcement was made during the company’s participation at GITEX Technology Exhibition 2022 in Dubai. The test is a key milestone preparing Zain Kuwait to progress towards 5.5G era and to further promote Kuwait’s digital leadership.
The 2CC test was completed by aggregating two 5G frequency bands (2.3GHz and C-band) in preparation for the regulator announcement of the new national spectrum plan allocating additional spectrum bands to support the thriving mobile broadband services and applications over 5G networks and beyond.
Zain Kuwait CEO Eaman Al Roudhan said: “The successful test is a key milestone towards the 5.5G era and Zain’s advanced network in Kuwait. It complements our strategy to develop our infrastructure to further empower digital transformation in Kuwait and contribute to Kuwait Vision 2035.”
“We are committed to invest in continuously developing and expanding our 5G network with the latest innovative technologies to maintain our regional and global position as an ICT leader. We will continue delivering our customers state-of-the-art digital experiences and empower the rapidly growing digital ecosystem in Kuwait. This will support and accelerate the use of cloud storage, cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence, and IOT applications,” Al Roudhan added.
The 5G 2CC carrier aggregation test showcases Zain’s capability of bringing more capacity to customers to greatly improve their experience across wide range of thriving new applications and digital services.
The 5G carrier aggregation with two middle spectrum bands will play a significant role increasing Zain’s 5G signal reach and fuel 5G service capacity beyond current 5G network capability to meet the ever-growing market demand for Kuwait national mobile broadband data and applications. Zain implements Huawei’s 5G carrier aggregation solution in pilot network environment to conduct the test on middle spectrum bands boosting internet broadband experience.
Zain continuously works on building a robust 5G network to maintain its tireless efforts adopting the latest and the most advanced solutions towards 5.5G, with the aim of maintaining its leadership position in Kuwaiti mobile broadband market. The company affirms its promise to always offer a variety of advanced 5G services and solutions to meet individuals, industries, society, and the economy needs in line with Kuwait 2035 Vision.
