KUWAIT: Continuing its series of informative talks for employees, Zain recently hosted a special session on mental health on the occasion of World Mental Health Day, celebrated around the globe on 10 October. The insightful talk was presented by philanthropist, entrepreneur, and advocate for mental health and wellbeing Sheikha Majda Jaber Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, and was attended by Zain Kuwait CEO Eaman Al Roudhan, the executive management team, and many Zain employees.
The session came under Zain’s internal initiative for promoting mental health, entitled BE WELL, which encompasses the company’s strategic goals for catering to its employees’ mental wellbeing. Zain continuously enriches its direct relationship with its staff in and out of the workplace environment, catering to their most important needs by hosting similar gatherings that cover health-related priorities, including mental health.
During the session, which was held at the Zain Innovation Campus (ZINC), Sheikha Majda Al-Sabah stressed on the importance of maintaining mental health, while pointing out the best tips for creating the perfect balance between one’s personal and professional lives. Sheikha Majda openly and candidly spoke about her own personal journey and challenges with mental health, underlining the importance of destigmatizing this crucial topic.
Zain regularly hosts health-related sessions and programs to cater to its employees’ wellbeing, giving them the chance to check up on their physical and mental health while at the office. Such activities include routine checkups for blood pressure and sugar levels, vaccinations, blood drives, and mental health initiatives and campaigns.
In 2021, Zain introduced a groundbreaking, first in the region mental wellness strategy named BE WELL. The inspired wellbeing program seeks to cultivate a holistic approach to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) and support Zain employees’ mental wellbeing. The program features numerous approaches that help employees cater to their mental health, like direct access to a smartphone app for self-help, free therapy and counseling sessions, workshops and talks, and more. The different tools work towards fostering a mindful and productive working environment for Zain employees.
