KUWAIT: Thepublic relations and information department at Kuwait Fire Service Directorate(KFSD) said fire broke out in a laundry shop in Farwaniya. Farwaniya firemenfound there was an explosion and a fire that injured a worker. The fire alsospread to a vehicle across the store. The blaze was put out.
Meanwhile, KFSDheld a meeting with the entities that will participate in 'Shamel 5' exerciseson earthquakes and natural disasters, and how each side will confrontaccidents. Head of the 'Shamel 5' exercise team Colonel Muath Al-Hammad openedthe meeting and explained the problems in the exercises and informed each sideof its duties.
The bodiesparticipating in the exercise are: Defense, interior, health information,public works, electricity and water ministries, National Guard, KFSD, KuwaitMunicipality, Environment Public Authority, Kuwait Oil Company, Kuwait NationalPetroleum Company, EQUATE, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research and KuwaitRed Crescent Society.
Fatal accident
A citizen waskilled when his car flipped over on Mutlaa Road. Police responded to a callabout the car that caught fire. The citizen was rushed to hospital but waspronounced dead on arrival. An investigation was opened to determine whatcaused the accident.
Investigation
Deputy Premierand Interior Minister Lt Gen Sheikh Khalid Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah ordered theformation of a fact finding committee to investigate a video clip in which aperson accuses interior ministry personnel of abusing their authority afterthey beat him.
