KUWAIT: Security forces arrested 20 female and male beggars in various areas around Kuwait, the Ministry of Interior's (MoI) security media and relations department announced yesterday. The department announced that  the beggars included:

The department explained that the suspects were arrested while wandering and begging in crowded places and outside mosques, and that various sums of money they had collected was found with them. The department added that legal measures are currently being taken against both the beggars and their sponsors, noting that some had been already deported and banned from returning to Kuwait and that others were referred to juvenile police pending further measures. Moreover, the department underlined that all sponsors were summoned so that proper measures could be taken against them, including blacklisting and rejecting any future sponsorship applications they file.

Injuries

A 22-year-old Iranian male yesterday sustained a hand injury when his vehicle collided into another in Salmiya, said security sources. Meanwhile, a 20-year-old Kuwaiti man broke his collarbone when he fell while playing football in the courts outside Aqua Park, said security sources. Also, a 37-year-old Indian sustained a head injury when his vehicle collided into another along King Faisal Expressway.
