KUWAIT: An elderly woman, a young man and an Ethiopian maid were killed, while a citizen and a driver were injured in two accidents reported yesterday. Policemen received a call about a collision on Nuwaiseeb Road between a car driven by an Indian man and another driven by a citizen, which led to the deaths of the old woman and the maid. The other accident took place on Wafra road, killing a young man and injuring another.

Fake maids' office

Residency Affairs Detectives arrested eight members of a gang, all Asians, for running a bogus maid office and trading in absconding domestic helpers. The gang agreed with the maids to escape from their sponsors' houses and return to the gang's premises. All those arrested were found wanted, so they were arrested and sent to concerned authorities.

Environmental campaign

Environment police carried out a campaign against diesel trucks in the customs area, resulting in referring several suspects and vehicles in violation to concerned authorities.

Stabbing

Policemen are investigating the stabbing of a bedoon man who was abducted by two men. The bedoon was kidnapped from his car following a fight between him and another man in Jahra. The reason behind the fight was not immediately known due to the bad condition of the victim and the culprits' escape.

Training course

The combat support unit at the protection command of the Kuwait National Guard organized a course on defusing explosives for several defense ministry members. Commander of Protection Brigade Col Hamad Salem said the course is part of cooperation and expertise exchange with the army.
