KUWAIT: Kuwait Heart Foundation has announced the hosting of the 15th Gulf Heart Foundation Conference from Dec 13 to 16 at Grand Hyatt Hotel. Dr Rashed Al-Owayesh, Secretary-General of Kuwait Heart Foundation, highlighted the conference’s significance in contributing to the development of health services in the country by discussing the latest research in the field of heart diseases.

Dr Owayesh emphasized the importance of the conference, where regional and international elite doctors will exchange expertise and information, gaining insights into modern methods and various skills. He stressed the need for regular medical tests to detect diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure early, enabling timely treatment and complication control. The foundation will leverage the participation of several specialists by organizing a popular question-and-answer session.

Dr Fahad Al-Hajeri, Chairman of the Scientific Committee at the conference, expressed joy in hosting the 15th Gulf Heart Foundation Conference in collaboration with the Kuwait Heart Foundation. He noted that this year’s conference would bring together global experts for unprecedented discussions on recent developments in heart and blood vessel fields.

The conference will feature workshops covering advanced heart ultrasound, first aid, and ECG. Scientific sessions during the subsequent days will address various heart-related topics, including catheterization, valves, heart failure, artificial intelligence, heart and artery disease diagnoses and the role of medical imaging such as MRI and CT scans in diagnosing heart diseases. Modern treatments and scientific recommendations for diseases such as the relationship between tumors and heart diseases and myocardial hypertrophy will also be discussed.

The keynote speaker at the conference will be the Head of the Pediatric and Adult Cardiology Department at Cleveland Ohio Hospital. Sessions on heart surgeries and their role in simple interventions are also planned. Dr Hajeri highlighted an open awareness day for the public on Saturday from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at Grand Hyatt Hotel, offering various tests, including blood cholesterol and sugar levels and blood pressure checks.
