
KUWAIT: The third local disabled games will kick off today at the Kuwait Disabled Sports Club in shooting, athletics and target ball for the blind with the participation of a large number of club players of both genders and will continue for three days. Club president Shafi Al-Hajiri said this tournament marks the end of a series of championships the club organized this year and included all the sports that are practiced in the club, and aimed at improving the players’ levels and prepare for championships abroad, besides being a good opportunity to discover new talent. Al-Hajiri said the club completed all technical and administrative preparations for the tournament and expected to have good competition technically especially that several players who qualified for the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro next September, particularly in shooting and athletics.
He said the club’s athletics track, Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud Hall which will see the shooting competition and the Target ball hall are all ready for competition. Shafi Al-Hajiri appreciated the major support the public authority for sports under its Director General Sheikh Ahmad Al-Mansour Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and hid Deputy Dr Humoud Fulaiteh gives his club including the patronage of all three local tournaments that is besides its continued support for the national teams abroad.
