KUWAIT: The ten unions and associations of journalists in the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) approved the launch of the first regional group of the International Federation, known as the ‘West Asia Group.’ Representatives of ten IFJ-affiliated unions and associations participated in the meeting, and seven were elected as the Board of Directors of the West Asia Group, namely Adwan Al-Ahmari (Saudi Arabia), Jassim Kamal (Kuwait), Fadila Al-Muaili (UAE), Mozn Morshed (Syria), Nabil Al-Asadi (Yemen), and Tahsin Al-Astal (Palestine).

The first meeting of the West Asia Council was held, and the administrative body was selected. The Chairman of the West Asia Group, Adwan Al-Ahmari, confirmed that the focus would be on the priorities that fall within the specialties of our elected council, and they are ready to cooperate with all regional organizations of the International Federation of Journalists and work to strengthen cooperation with the International Federation of Journalists and the Asia-Pacific Organization.
