KUWAIT: A woman recently filed a complaint against her 18-year-old son, accusing him of detaining and torturing her for two days when she refused to give him money he had asked for. The mother provided police with a medical report showing her injuries. When police tried to contact the suspect, he did not answer. A case was filed and the man is being summoned for further investigations.
Fatal accident
An Indian man died instantly when a speeding vehicle ran him over driven by a citizen along King Fahad expressway. The car’s Kuwaiti driver was taken in police’s custody for further action.
KD 76,000
A citizen wanted for a KD 76,000 financial claim was recently arrested in Mahboula, said security sources, noting that the man was identified and detained at a road checkpoint.
Fight
Three citizens were recently arrested for fighting in Salmiya, said security sources. They noted that two of the fighters are brothers, adding that they started the fight with a third man after they felt he was staring at them in a provoking way.
Drug possession
A citizen was recently arrested in Mahboula with possession of 14 packs of drugs, said security sources. Police searched the suspect’s vehicle after he became nervous when he stopped at a security checkpoint. He was taken to the proper authorities to face charges.
Bad neighbor
A Syrian women recently filed a complaint at Salmiya police station against her Kuwaiti neighbor, accusing him of threatening and insulting her. The woman added that her neighbor used to park his vehicle behind hers, blocking her way to provoke her. A case was filed and further investigations are in progress.
Theft
The owner of a women accessories’ store accused an African saleswoman of steeling KD 600 in cash in addition to some of the goods on display. A case was filed and further investigations are in progress.
