Taiwan bans eating dogs and cats

DOHA: During his official visit to Doha this week, Kuwait First Deputy Prime Minister, Defense Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah met on Tuesday Kuwaiti cadets studying in Qatari Military Colleges. The cadets are delegated by Kuwait’s army and the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Coast Guards and the National Guards, to study in Qatar’s Ahmad Bin Mohammad Military College, Mohammad Bin Ghanim Naval Academy, and the Police College. Sheikh Fahad affirmed the importance of having the cadets complete their academic and military courses, stressing on their role in supporting Kuwait’s future stability and security.

He also visited the Qatari Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) camp, where he was received by Qatar’s Minister of Interior and Lekhwiya Commander Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al-Thani. The visit included a formal military parade by the Lekhwiya force in the main field. Sheikh Fahad praised the high level of competence and advanced equipment showcased by the Lekhwiya force, underscoring their readiness and preparedness, and the visit was concluded with an exchange of commemorative gifts.

Sheikh Fahad also toured the Milipol Qatar 2024 exhibition, which began earlier Tuesday with the participation of over 250 global and local companies specializing in internal security and safety. During his tour, the First Deputy Prime Minister reviewed key security requirements, the current state of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and the enhancement of modern technology use in smart and safe cities, as well as advancements in forensic science used in investigations. Several interior ministers, senior security leaders, experts, and specialists from various countries, along with major global companies specializing in internal security, are participating in the exhibition, which runs until October 31.
