KUWAIT: Following up the murder of an Indian two months ago in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, detectives arrested a Syrian and an Omani while they were assaulting an expat in Farwaniya, said security sources. Case papers indicate that a police patrol saw the suspects mugging their victim, and on approaching, they fled, but policemen managed to chase and catch one of them. The arrested suspect told police that along with a Syrian and an Omani, they had been mugging several expats and confessed that they were behind the murder of an Indian in Jleeb two months earlier. The suspect said they stabbed the man to death when he resisted. A case was filed and further investigations are in progress.
Egyptian killed
An Egyptian was instantly killed and several others injured when a vehicle they were in flipped along King Fahd expressway.
'Shemales' held
A vice squad arrested a number of Asian 'shemales' at a massage center in Mahboula, said security sources. Case papers indicate that detectives had been tipped off concerning the suspects' activity and a secret agent was assigned to go to the center before the place was raided and 11 people were arrested. A case was filed and further investigations are in progress.
Two drown after storm
Kuwait Fire Directorate said two persons drowned in two accidents during a storm that hit Kuwait on Saturday. A boat sank in Khor Subbiya with four people aboard - three survived, but the fourth's body was recovered by the coastguard. In the second accident, a boat flipped over near Kuwait Towers with two brothers aboard, one of whom swam to the beach and was taken to hospital in stable condition, while divers searched and found the body of the other and handed it to the coroner.
Camping regulation
Director General of Kuwait Municipality Ahmad Al-Subaih said he is keen to adapt rules regulating camping in a way that ensures people's comfort. He said 19 sites were approved in the last season in three governorates - Jahra, Ahmadi and Farwaniya. He said that some of the sites will be cancelled as new ones will replace them as requested by government authorities, making sure that camps are at least 2 km away from military sites.
