KUWAIT: Presidentof International and Asian Bowling Federations, Chairman of Kuwait Bowling ClubSheikh Talal Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah expressed satisfaction towards the success ofthe three tournaments that were hosted by Kuwait Bowling Center in Salmiya allalong 19 days, as the focus of bowling fans around the world was on Kuwait.

He said the WorldTour season finale, the 13th Kuwait International Open and the 25th AsianChampionship formed a chain of success, proving that Kuwait is able to host thestrongest of world events, as it seeks to become a world center of the game,and this was the goal of the bowling club for years.

Al-Mohammadappreciated the patronage of HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-MubarakAl-Hamad Al-Sabah of the Asian championship, adding that his support had thebiggest effect on improving the game and motivate players to give more and makegreat achievements.

Sheikh Mohammadsaid the three championships are a prelude to the two important events thecountry is waiting for, they are the individuals world championship in 2020 andthe group in 2021, as both will be held in Kuwait for the first time, as thecase was with the 25th Asian championship, which received praise from all thoseinvolved, as far as quality of organization and high level of competitionbetween 27 countries.

Al-Mohammadlauded the benefit of the three championships Kuwait players received as theygot competed with the strongest world and Asian bowlers, and were able toclinch the silver medal of the threes category by Khalid Al-Dubayyan, JassimAl-Saqer and Mustafa Al-Mousawy.

He also spokeabout the efforts of the committees who were working since Oct 20, and thiseffort was the corner stone of success that was achieved by Kuwaitis. Al-Mohammadthanked the Public Authority for Sport, Kuwait Olympic Committee and the mediafor the support that made the bowling club a big motivation to bring out theevents in the best way possible.

Meanwhile, England'sDom Barrett and Colombia's Maria Rodriguez were dominated the finals of theworld tour on Thursday that took place at the Kuwait Bowling Center with theparticipation of 12 top ranked champions of both genders. Barrett won hissecond title in two days, as he won the gold medal at the Kuwait InternationalOpen, winning $12,500. He beat Iceland's Arnar Johsnon in the final match withthe score (276-232). Meanwhile Rodriguez beat Liz Johnson (252-234).
