KUWAIT: Kuwait Telecommunications Company - stc, a world-class digital leader providing innovative services and platforms to customers, enabling the digital transformation in Kuwait, celebrated the final match of the most exclusive football tournament in Kuwait, the "Amir Cup", which is held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The game was held at the Jaber International Stadium and attended by the Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah , along with other governmental officials and Kuwait football family.
In line with the company strategy to support the local sports community and as the official sponsor of KFA, stc executives including engineer Maziad Alharbi, CEO of stc, Issam Issa Al Assousi, CCAO of stc as well as the Corporate Communications GM Danah AlJasem attended the final game and the closing ceremony. During the final match of the Amir Cup, Kazma Sporting Club were crowned champions for the Eighth time in the Club's history after winning the final match against Salmiya Sporting Club 2-1 held at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.
Engineer Maziad Alharbi, CEO of stc, expressed his happiness for the company's participation in the final game of the Amir Cup Championship as it falls under the strategic partnership with the KFA for the eighth consecutive year. He said, "We were honored by the presence of His Highness the Crown Prince, may God protect him, at the final match of the Amir Cup in its 60th edition and we value his vision for the sports community and the Kuwaiti youth."
Engineer Maziad Alharbi, praised the diligent efforts made by the teams at the KFA and stc to ensure a successful tournament, pointing out that the tournament holds a special place in the heart bearing the name of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, an avid supporter of this great tournament and sport. Alharbi also congratulated the new President of the Kuwait Football Association and the new Board Members while wishing them all the success in their new Journey.
He added that stc's sponsorship and participation in the several activities under the umbrella of the Kuwait Football Association stems from our pioneering role in the private sector and from the corporate values stc draws on and the belief in the importance of the local sports scene and KFA's role in reviving football in Kuwait. This will have a positive impact on both, the individual and society as a whole".
