The authority also signed a five-year contract worth about KD 23.5 million with the US Hill International, the global leader in managing construction risk, to provide program management consultancy services during the development of the project. South Al-Mutlaa project consists of 12 suburbs including roughly 28,363 houses, covering 400 square meters each. It is located 40 km northwest of Al-Jahra City. It has a total of 30,000 housing units. The first construction license is expected to be issued in December 2018, for those who have submitted their applications on June 30, 2010.
