KUWAIT: Minister of Social Affairs and Community Development, and Minister of State for Women and Childhood Affairs Mai Al-Baghli stressed the Ministry’s keenness on cooperating with the Women Development Organization in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)’s Member States. There is a protocol that organizes the cooperation between both bodies, she told reporters on Wednesday after receiving the Executive Director of OIC member states’ Women Development Organization Dr Afnan Al-Shuaibi, who is currently visiting Kuwait.
The Women and children affairs is considered a new specialty at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Al-Baghli added. Meanwhile, Al-Shuaibi added in press remarks that the Women Development Organization is a new body that got into action between years 2020-2021, and is considered an independent one, affiliated the OIC that represents the membership of 56 countries. Al-Shuaibi’s visit to Kuwait comes as the first one among other tours of the organization abroad, coming to boost cooperation with a number of governments and private sector, considering Kuwait as a key supporter of this organization.
For his part, the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs Abdulaziz Al-Mutairi said in press remarks that the ministry welcomed the cooperation and protocol with the organization according to the legal procedures followed regarding memorandums of understanding between the parties in charge. The cooperation with the organization according to the protocol of understanding is conducted through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic channels in cooperation with the ministry’s external relations department he affirmed. - KUNA
