KUWAIT: HH The Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Annual Shooting Tournament will kick off at Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex today in the categories of shotgun, rifle and pistol for men and women, in addition to the Olympic archery. The tournament will continue until Saturday. The club has made all necessary preparations at its facilities befitting the status of HH the Crown Prince Shooting Tournament.
Assistant Treasurer at Kuwait Shooting Sport Club Adnan Nasser Al-Ibrahim, on behalf of the chairman, board members and the shooting community, thanked HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for his support and encouragement to the shooters who could continue to make achievements for their country Kuwait. He said the tournament promises a strong competition especially that the number of shooters have exceeded 300, including those outstanding and members of the national team.
Meanwhile, Deputy Technical Director for Rifle and Pistol Abdallah Abdelaziz Al-Barakat said that a working plan has been prepared to organize and manage the competitions. He said ranges have been prepared and now they are fully prepared for the tournament. He said technical and referees committees have met and roles have been assigned.
The emphasis is on health protocols in view of the COVID-19 pandemic as prescribed by the health authorities, he added. The shotgun technical director Mishfi Al-Mutairi said that several meetings were held with the administrative, technical and referees committees in order to guarantee the success of the tournament. All these preparations were made, taking into account the significance of the tournament at local level, he said.
